Chair Yoga & Meditation Ipswich

Allied Therapy Network provides floor and chair based yoga and meditation services to clients who are looking to improve their overall health and function through movement and mindfulness. Contrary to popular assumption, yoga is not only for the flexible bodied!  We encourage clients with limited mobility to participate in yoga to improve range of motion which can also improve emotional health.

We strongly believe in the value of yoga and meditation practices as complementary to the allied health services we offer our clients.

The classes we offer are focused on gentle mindful movement to help improve nervous system resilience, to encourage letting go of stress and anxiety, to improve functional movement and to develop a better relationship with and appreciation of the body.

General Classes are suitable for:

  • Those who are new to yoga
  • Those returning after injury/illness/time away
  • Anyone who simply wants to gently and mindfully move their body
  • You don’t need to be flexible or fit! You don’t need to wear expensive yoga gear!
  • Class is available to anyone who can get themselves down to the floor and back up again safely
  • All props and mats are provided
  • Simply wear comfortable clothes to move in

This class is about purposefully moving the body – learning to coordinate movement with the breath:

  • Building a mind/body connection – leads to a better relationship and appreciation of your own body
  • Deepening self-awareness – becoming more interoceptive/more aware of the inner world and wisdom
  • Improving nervous system resilience to better cope with anxiety and stress
  • Improving functional movement
  • Adopting yogic techniques for learning to let go of:
  • Stressors
  • Anxiety
  • Habits and behaviours that no longer serve us
  • Tension and tightness in the body

The class is self-paced meaning participants can do as little or as much as they feel is available to them at the time.

It’s about starting where you’re at-honouring-respecting the body.

Chair Classes are suitable for:

  • Anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable getting down and up from the floor
  • Wheelchair user for mobility
  • Someone dealing with or recovering from an injury/illness

Coordinating breath and movement to facilitate the mind/body connection, improving nervous system resilience, developing greater self-awareness, letting go of habits that no longer serve.
